Cleveland Westie Walkers September Walk Report.
24 westies and their “human families” turned out on Sunday 12 th. September for our walk on Redcar Stray and beach.
We had a couple of new members attending while others were away at York Westie Walk .
Weather was overcast and bracing in the breeze off the sea, tide was going out so gave us a lot of beach to walk on and the dogs to explore. The rain held off this month till we were finishing so that was a bonus.
Most of the westies were soon off their leads and running in and out of the water and enjoying themselves. A couple of the younger dogs were kept on long leads and they were straining to get in the mix. One or two dogs were quite nervous at the meeting point at the Stray Cafe but by the time they had been on the beach for an hour or so you could see the difference in them.
Funny thing we noticed was when a large Labrador came over to one of the westies and was bossing it about then 3 of the older westies charged over to the rescue and the lab ran off. The westies were all well behaved with the usual culprits having a bark when they felt like it.
Next months walk is October 10th at Seaton Carew near Hartlepool. This is a new venue and for us and hope that members will be surprised by the superb beach and the actual size of beach that is at Seaton.
All westies, scotties and cairns plus their assorted crosses are very welcome so if you are In the area please pop along.
Meeting at the Clock Tower on seafront for an 11.30 am start.
