An animal rescue is looking for kind people to become foster parents to dogs and cats who are in need of a temporary home.

The Animal House Rescue, which is based in Birmingham, takes in unwanted, abused and abandoned animals.

The rescue does not use kennels but instead, they have foster homes which enables the staff to see the dogs and cats behaviour in a home environment.

This means any problems can be dealt with and the animal can re-homed to the most appropriate place.

If you think you could give an animal a loving foster home, here is the basic criteria:

  • Having your own transport is preferred but not essential.
  • You must live within 10 miles of B32 and be able to travel to vet appointments at the rescues vets in Smethwick. This is so they can get supplies to you easily and quickly if needed and vet appointments/emergencies can be attended.
  • For adult cats, we will accept part-time workers but for cats with kittens or just kittens you will need to be around most of the time.

Fostering isn't all about hugging cute and fluffy cats and dogs. That's the upside, it's about cleaning cages, trays, mucky faces and bums sometimes and on occasion medication.

All equipment and food will be provided and further information on fostering cats can be found on The Animal House Rescue Facebook page.
