Meet the lab with possibly the best ‘job’ in the world. His typical working day includes a mix of greeting and cuddling, posing for selfies, going for walks and relaxing in his custom-made bed.

So far so normal, right? Only Mr Walker does all that in a 5 star hotel where his official title is ‘Canine Ambassadog’.

Six-year-old Mr Walker has been ‘employed’ by the fancy Park Hyatt Melbourne, in Victoria, Australia since 2017.

His doggy business card explains his main mission is ‘to make everyone feel at home, and provide companionship for anyone who is missing their own furry friend’.

(Adorably, it also adds that his hobbies are making friends, tennis balls, lounging, eating and playing with wombats.)

However, he also makes time to raise awareness for charities close to his heart, such as Guide Dogs Victoria, where he was formerly trained as a guide dog.

So, how did he end up there?

According to a spokesperson for the Park Hyatt, Mr Walker changed careers aged 18 months after ‘deciding his affectionate nature and extraordinary people skills were better suited to the life of an ‘Ambassadog’’.

Since then, the furry legend, who now lives with the Park Hyatt's resident hotel manager Leigh Shepheard, has been the subject of several award-winning books published by Penguin Random House, including The Tales of Mr Walker and Dogs With Jobs, with royalties going to Guide Dogs Victoria.

The pup was also the star of a recent charity initiative, ‘#Pawgust’, a fitness and fundraising challenge that supported Guide Dogs Australia. What a star!
