As the weather forecast predicts temperatures of up to 28 degrees in parts of the UK this June, it’s the perfect time to purchase a paddling pool for your pooch - before they sell out!
Doggy paddling pools are great for helping your pet keep cool in the garden when they’re frightened of missing out on the summer fun.
Whether they’re a paw-dipper or a full-body-splasher, it’s important to keep your dog’s paws cool to prevent heatstroke, which can prove fatal in minutes during hot weather.
TeamDogs have scoured the web for some of the best dog paddling pools on the market, in a range of shapes, sizes and prices. They’re one of those products you’ll only ever need to buy once, so are a really great investment purchase for your pup.
Here are six dog paddling pools you can buy for your pet:
Cool Club Dog Paddling Pool
Currently on offer at Pets at Home, the Cool Club Dog Paddling Pool comes in sizes large and extra large, priced at £18.75 and £26.25 respectively.
The pool has a galvanised steel spring frame that pops up and down, with waterproof PU coated polyester sides that’s really easy to assemble.
It’s even got a mesh pocket where you can store things like collars and toys.
Rosewood Cool Down Foldable Dog Pool
Available exclusively online at Pets at Home, this foldable dog pool comes in sizes small, medium and large.
There’s no need to inflate the pool as the walls are made from ‘fortified plastic and medium density fibreboard’, which prevents spills and punctures.
It costs between £28 and £50 depending on the size, and comes with its own bag making it transportable, so you could even take it on your holidays!
The product description says: “Cooling a pet down has just got easier, give your pet its own outdoor pool and watch their enjoyment as it splashes around in the water on a hot summer's day.”
And when it comes to packing the pool away, simply open its side valve to release the water.
Chad Valley Sand and Water Pit
Whilst not strictly a dog paddling pool, this sand and water pit from Argos is a brilliant option for a doggy paddling pool!
For £20, you get two pits and the option to pick blue or pink. You could fill one with water, and one with tennis balls, and watch your dog have the time of their lives diving between the two.
Made from polypropylene, it is ok to be left out overnight in all weather and fits 111 litres of water inside!
The apple shaped pool is around a metre by a metre, and is really sturdy. It’s a great buy if you fear your dog's claws would tear other pools.
Mossley Foldable Dog Swimming Pool
This dog swimming pool is a cooling paradise for your dog, especially under the greatest heat in summer. The hard-wearing paddling pool is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
From Wayfair, this pool comes in red or blue, with three sizes to choose from, starting from £26.16.
Thanks to the ‘premium’ PVC materials and reinforced edges, the pet pool is extra durable and stable, with an anti-slip surface providing safety. Additionally, its collapsible design makes it easy to be folded away when not in use.
Red Gorilla Large Shallow Flexible Tubs
This 35 liter Gorilla Tub - previously known as a Tubtrug - is flexible, weather resistant and made to last.
The multifunctional tub is made from food grade material, so could even be used to store your pet’s food or water! One of their most popular uses, though, is as a paddling pool!
The tubs are between £14.49 and £15.48 from VioVet, with happy shoppers rating them five stars! Pauline Kirby said: “Very good quality, and strong. Bought it for my little rescue dog to go in when it was hot weather. I would recommend this product, as it has multiple uses.”
Gerodaphin Splash Pad Sprinkler
If you want a cooling pool ASAP and don’t want to wait three to five days for delivery, then Amazon Prime has you covered with this awesome sprinkler pad.
The Gerodaphin Splash Pad Sprinkler is a non-slip water mat for the garden, and costs just £28.99 with free next day delivery.
All you need to do is connect a water faucet or tap, and the sprinkler will start!
TeamDogs member Stephen Hurrell said: “The shallow pool is perfect for cooling off hot doggy paws and after a brief moment of hesitance, my dog Georgie was straight in to splash around.”
