Anyone who has ever watched The Office, After Life or Derek will know just how good with words Ricky Gervais is.

The actor always speaks his mind, and never more so than when he’s speaking about dogs. His Twitter feed (@rickygervais) is as much about joking around as it is about campaigning against cruelty towards dogs. Put together, his thoughts about dogs - who he loves so much - are beyond moving.

Ricky is beautifully open about what dogs mean to him

It was acting but it's pretty easy to get emotional over a beautiful dog.
