We’ve all been buzzing with excitement for the cast of Love Island 2021 to be revealed, but at TeamDogs what we really want to know is everything about the other good boy or girl in their life: their dog.

The cast was slowly revealed this morning (June 21), ahead of the show’s 2021 series beginning on June 28.

ITV drip-fed the Islanders to fans on the official Love Island Instagram account every half hour from 8.30am.

TeamDogs did the necessary snooping to find out that five of the Islanders have proudly posed with pooches on the ‘gram - but the others don’t appear to have their own pets, poor things.

From Dachshunds to Labradors, these are the dogs of the Love Island 2021 contestants.

Sharon Gaffka

Sharon is a 25-year-old civil servant from Oxford, and lives with her sausage dog puppy Vienna.

The Islander brought the black-and-tan daxie home in January, and has shared adorable Instagram stories of her growing up. She’s now around seven months old and described as a ‘diva’ by her hoo-mum.

On looking for love, Sharon said: "I tend to date someone who is taller than me, even though my last long-term partner, he was actually someone who was shorter than me. I’m quite an intellectual person so I want someone who can kind of match that."

We better hope they like sausage dogs, too!

Hugo Hammond

Hugo has only posted 74 Instagram photos since 2014, and of those, two feature an adorable chocolate labrador.

The 24-year-old PE teacher, from Hampshire, posed for two photos in a row with the pooch - once in December 2019, and again in February 2020.

Whilst Hugo hasn’t shared the name of his family pet, he captioned the picture: “Half a box of dog biscuits later - hope everyone had a lovely Christmas x.”

Born with a clubfoot, Hugo is the show’s first disabled contestant, and has played for England PD (Physical Disability), representing his country across the world.

Shannon Singh

Self-confessed ‘party girl’ Shannon is an ex-glamour model from Fife.

The sociable model, aged 22, posted a photo on Instagram during the first coronavirus lockdown with two gorgeous pugs.

Posing with one black, and one fawn pug, Shannon captioned the image: “The best lockdown company you could ask for”.

She’s said that going on Love Island is a ‘once-in-a-lifetime opportunity’ and she's hoping to find someone with energy.

Shannon said: "I don’t feed off looks, I feed off energy, I need someone with personality.” Pugs are known to have huge personalities, so will one of the Islanders catch her attention with the sort of energy she’s looking for?

Jake Cornish

Water engineer Jake, from Western-super-Mare, was in a seven-year relationship until lockdown hit, when he found himself single.

But in July 2020, a lucky lady stole the 24-year-old tattooed man’s heart. Jake posted a photo to Instagram holding an adorable puppy and said: “New family member Nellie.”

He’s since been seen posing with the pooch in a car in November 2020, writing: “See, Nellys excited to see me.”

"Looks wise, always gone for blondes," Jake revealed. "But for me, the main thing is having respect and having good fun, and someone who will be loyal to you.”

Is Nellie the only blonde that he can fall for, or will one of the bombshells in the villa capture Jake’s heart?

Faye Winter

Devon-based Faye is a 26-year-old lettings manager and dog lover. She’s been a volunteer for Guide Dogs UK for four years, fostering six gorgeous pups ahead of their training.

She fostered Flossie in February 2020 and, 12 months later posted a series of photos on her Instagram revealing she’d be taking a break from fostering.

She wrote: “Volunteering for The Guide Dogs for the past 4 years has truly been the most amazing experience, the people and most importantly the dogs are incredible! It’s been the biggest pleasure being a part of such a life-changing charity, it’s helped me through personal situations and for that I will always be grateful, but for now it’s time for me to take a break as Flossie leaving has hit me extremely hard.”

Faye has also posted photos of herself with a giant St Bernard, who we just want to give a massive hug!
