A golden retriever loves playing with balls so much that he refuses to put them down.

The dog’s adorable fascination with tennis balls has been documented in a video on his Instagram account, which has been viewed more than 27,000 times.

Finley, a six-year-old golden retriever from Canandaigua, New York, US, is so obsessed with tennis balls that he has won a Guinness World Record for carrying up to six tennis balls in his mouth.

In the clip posted on his Instagram account, Finley is seen laying on the green grass holding a tennis ball mid-air between his paws.

He doesn’t take his eyes off the yellow ball, and refuses to let go.

You can see his tail wagging and his tongue hanging out to his chin, as he stares lovingly at the ball.

After a few seconds, Finley decides to roll over and continue to play with the ball on the grass.

The video was captioned “Dis is my ball and I love it” on Instagram by Finley’s owner, Cheri Molloy, on their account @finleyboymolloy.

The clip, shared on the Daily Star, has also ranked up more than 200 comments from fans smitten with Finley.

One viewer wrote: “This is the cutest damn thing I’ve ever seen.”

Another said: “He just makes me smile. What an adorable goofy boy!”

“Worshipping the almighty ball God!” a third joked.

Cheri told USA Today: “The joy he brings to us is one thing. But he brings joy to people all over the world.”

Cheri describes Finley as a golden retriever who loves to swim, play fetch and chase animals.

Cheri’s daughter, Erin, said: “When I look at him, I’m like, I want to squeeze you, I love you so much!”

In February, 2020, Finley was awarded ‘Most tennis balls held in the mouth by a dog’ from the Guinness World Records.
