She might be every dog lover’s ultimate Disney villain but we’re all super excited about the release of Cruella.
Of course we are, it’s based on a film all about dogs - 101 Dalmatians.
But while the live-action remake is less about the dogs and more about Cruella de Vil, it will feature some of our favourite spotty four-legged friends.
It couldn’t possibly not.
So, to celebrate the release of Disney’s Cruella, here is everything you need to know about the upcoming film, including what it’s about, who plays the film’s villain, and how you can watch it from the comfort of your own home.
Where can I watch it?
Cruella will be in cinemas from Friday May 28 but if you’d prefer to watch it at home, it will also be available on Disney+ with Premier Access.
A Disney+ subscription plus a single additional fee of £19.99 is required for Premier Access to Cruella.
Premier Access allows you to watch it before it is available to all Disney+ subscribers.
What is it about?
The prequel to 101 Dalmatians, the film is set in 1970's London amidst the punk rock revolution. It follows a young girl called Estella who is eager to make it in the fashion industry with her creative designs.
But after befriending a couple of thieves, it’s evident she has a mischievous streak with them then going on to build a life on the streets.
Estella soon starts to embrace her wicked side, AKA her alter ego Cruella, after she catches the eye of Baroness von Hellman - a legend in the fashion industry described as being ‘devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute’.
Who plays Cruella?
Directed by Craig Gillespie, the film boasts some pretty big names including two-time Oscar-winner Emma Thompson playing Baroness von Hellman.
But landing the role of Cruella is Emma Stone, an American actress also known for roles in ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’ and ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’.
Cruella is available to watch from Friday May 28.
