A Staffordshire dog lover has launched an eco-friendly business after being shocked at how much waste her dogs’ food and treats produced.

Lucy Reynolds was on a personal mission to reduce waste and single use plastic at home, when she realised that all of her dogs’ products come wrapped in plastic.

The 35-year-old, from Kidsgrove began researching more environmentally friendly options, before launching her own store, StokeonTrentLive reports.

Lucy said "I started researching how I could get more environmentally-friendly dog food and treats. I found some amazing natural and eco-friendly products.

"When I told my friends who had dogs they asked me to get them some too - so I was putting in bulk orders. Before I knew it I was running a little business, and Green Paw Prints grew from there."

So as well as supplying Benson, Sheba and Kody the border collies, Lucy juggles work as a dental nurse with running a thriving online business, which has also branched out into toys, and also eco-friendly alternative accessories and grooming products, plus a new cat range too.

"The feedback I've had is that people really don't want plastic waste, and also they find the eco-friendly products are really popular with their pets, so it's a win-win. I'm also aware that people don't want to spend a fortune, so I keep the prices down.

"Most things we sell loose or in biodegradable packaging to be more environmentally friendly, and the products themselves aim to be as natural and healthy as possible.

"So far it's all been online - UK wide delivery is available for all orders - but I have my first stall at the fun dog show fundraiser for 12th Stafford Scout Group on August 22, so I'm looking forward to that.

"The support I've had locally has been amazing, and I'm looking forward to meeting some of the dogs I've been supplying."
