We all know what it’s like when youngsters moan when they’re told it’s bedtime and they want to stay up a bit longer – but you wouldn’t expect this four-year-old to throw such a childish tantrum. Marshall the Dalmatian makes his feelings perfectly clear when his owner tells him to go to bed.
In what has become a nightly ritual, Marshall’s owner tells him it’s bedtime and Marshall has a good grumble about it – to no avail.
Marshall would much rather stay up with his owners, Pete and Ruth Hodges.

According to Pete, 55, Marshall has always been a very reactive boy. Marshall was adopted by the loving family, from Medway in Kent, when he was two years old. He has shown to be a talkative pup ever since.

Pete said: “Most things become a conversation and he enjoys making us laugh. He will also talk when we are telling him to sit and be good, it’s just his way of being part of the family.”
In the video, despite clearly being tired, Marshall tries to tell Pete and Ruth that he is comfy where he is and doesn’t want to go to bed yet.
Ruth tells Marshall, “It’s bedtime,” urging him to get some shut-eye, which is when he begins whining and groaning. Mid-conversation, Marshall yawns and eventually the Dally stands up and wags his tail.
Pete said: “I think he just likes being with us. He is a spotty shadow if one of us leaves the room in the evening.”
After a dramatic and very funny few minutes each night, Marshall will get off to bed and sleep right through the night like a good boy.
