A big woof woof welcome fellow dog lover to our website - TeamDogs.
We've got cake and wine, but as I'll explain in a second, I did need to improvise.
So what is TeamDogs all about? In short it's a community of people who love dogs - simple huh?
Here you will be able to share your favourite walks, toys, treats and more. You can also browse through a wealth of dog-related news, tips from the experts, and heart-warming stories about dog ownership.
I won't go into the nitty-gritty of TeamDogs, but you can find a handy article about how to get around the website here.
So, this aforementioned cake and wine. My vision for this welcome message was to get some truly Instagram-worthy pictures of my dog - Rafferty - with cake and wine (dog-friendly versions of both, of course). Needless to say, that didn't happen.
Firstly, the wine. As much as I love my dog and the fact we are celebrating a website launch, I wasn't prepared to crack out the best wine glasses. That would be a recipe for disaster. And getting plastic wine glasses in lockdown was never going to happen. So an old Nutella glass had to do.
As soon as I put the wine down to give Rafferty a taste he was guzzling it down and not with the daintiness of any model you see on Instagram. There was a lot of tongue and a lot of drool.
As for the cake - well I didn't get a photo of it. My vision was the cake next to Rafferty on the bench next to the wine and him looking oh so sophisticated. In reality he grabbed the entire cupcake from my hand and ran off with it. The only shot I managed to get was of a few crumbs and my greedy hound devouring the remnants.
Alright, so it wasn't the picture-perfect welcome I had envisioned but we start as we mean to go on and as us owners know the chaos of life with our dog is half the fun.
A very warm welcome to you, from all of us at TeamDogs.
Heard the one about the family who all wanted a dog but Dad didn't?
(Yes, you can guess how that worked out. Read it here.)
- Or what about rescue dog Dobby whose owners thought he was a Corgi... until he took a DNA test.
- Then there's the video that has to be seen to be believed about the guard dog who dozed through an armed robbery. You need to watch this!
